2023 Corvette Z06 Review // The $100,000 Supercar

2023 Corvette Z06 Review // The $100,000 Supercar

The 2023 Corvette C8 Z06 ($106,000 in the US, $128,000 starting in Canada) aspires to achieve a formidable goal: to slay supercar titans and crush its competition for a fraction of the cost. The mad scientists at Corvette say they designed it to have both the soul of a Ferrari 458 and the clinical speed of a Porsche GT2 RS. An extremely bold claim.

670 horsepower. 8600 rpm redline. This is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in any production car ever. Will it be able to live up to its mighty expectations? Thomas and James aim to find out. We hope you enjoy the episode. Thanks for watching! SUBSCRIBE!

I’m guessing the embargo’s been lifted with the amount of reviews that just popped up on my feed, yet somehow throttle house is always my first choice. You guys are honestly the best car reviewers on the site, the production quality is excellent, please keep it up

Holy hell, never thought I’d hear a sound like that from a Corvette. Simply amazing.

  3. Kristjan says:

This engine really does have an LFA quality to its sound. It sounds metallic, and precise. I love that there’s a new car with a naturally asprirated motor this sorted powerful. The future has looked bleak and way too quiet until now!

    • MeinTingles says:

@𓅱 People who unironically respond to disapproving opinions with “L” or any other type of low IQ zoomer slang renders it invalid. It absolutely resembles the sound of an LFA. You, and many others will only discount such a comparison because the car is American. We know this. Move along.

    • Kristjan says:

6:07. I said it has a ‘quality,’ not an exact likeness. It’s a characteristic of the physical sound design, hearing the inner workings wind up and scream as the air rushes in. Just as you hear in the LFA.

    • 𓅱 says:

L on that comparison bud. sorry

    • Narrow Is The Way says:

LFA has the V10 grunt and it’s extremely high pitched, this Z06 engine is awesome but not even close to the LFA sound

This generation of ZR1 gonna be insane maybe we might get lucky and it may make 800 hp finally after like 8 generations of fiberglass body sports cars 👀

  5. Rhodey Plays Things With Strings says:

The overtone is a different interval from the LFA, octaves instead of (I believe) an extended 5th. But my goodness that sounds incredible nonetheless. EDIT: The LFA’s interval is an extended 10th, probably the most pleasing exhaust interval possible.

  6. Jesse Perrella says:

Im so proud of these two. Amazing, legendary duo, and the skits are fantastic. Love you guys!!

  7. Tom Marino says:

When I heard about the new Z06 being a 458 “copy” I was so excited and couldn’t wait to see how it turned out and it hasn’t disappointed! Well done Chevrolet & well done Throttle House for another superb video!

  8. Joyous says:

I haven’t watched a video about a brand new car, that has given me Goosebumps from my first intro to it.
    What a glorious fantastic soundtrack.
Hell yeah GM, go show em what real cars should be like now.

Wonderful video people at TH, your production and videography are truly top notch!

  9. SoulRaven4Ever says:

    James:

“The fact that it starts with a 1 in it’s price is a triumph.”

    GM Dealers:

    “Are you sure about that?”

  10. Ron Dail says:

The Z06 is incredible. A dream that will probably never come to reality for me but best wishes to those that get one.
