Disney continues to pump out content onto Disney Plus after massive investments into making Star Wars and Marvel streaming series a thing. They are now… a thing. Ahsoka starring Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano has now been released, and it exists!

Ahsoka definitely raises some questions. Like are lightsabers even dangerous anymore? Does everyone just have a bunch of force powers? Is Thrawn really a tactical genius? What was the point of this being eight episodes?

To answer all these questions, check out the pitch meeting that led to Ahsoka!

Long live Producer Guy and Writer Guy, who are of course two distinct people

  2. Lilith says:

This was less of a pitch meeting and more of a summary. Way too accurate 😂

  3. RC Dune says:

I just always loves how Ryan can utterly annihilate these horrible Disney Star Wars shows in such a passive aggressive way😂😂😂😂

    • WitchingGecko says:

I think he almost makes them look good compared to the dumbster fire they actually are

    • RC Dune says:

@WitchingGecko definitely more entertaining… Haha I always know there’s a good pitch meeting coming whenever Disney puts something out 😂

I still enjoyed it, but yeah, it could have done with a bit more content. And some logic, maybe. Ahsoka is supernaturally cool with Sabine selling out the entire galaxy in exchange for briefly seeing Ezra before getting stranded in a galaxy far, far away. I mean, Ezra is great, but is he really worth Ahsoka, Sabine plus Thrawn?

Also, Ezra is the guy who can talk to space whales. If they hadn’t sent him with Thrawn, maybe he could have gotten them all back.

Star Wars had always a problem with being pretty cheesy, but the originals were fine because it was a fun adventure and all and if you do that for pretty much one story, you can go with that.

You could have used that setting to do more, but than you must give it more depth – not less.

No wondert, it’s all going to shit.

    • J Z says:

@Miriam Wellerthe original movies had charme and there was some work done for the story. There was world building. Disney now is not even cheesy its just the laziest writing imaginary. Pick a couple of main characters that go on some kind of journey to find item and beat bad guy

Pitch meetings are so on target, unlike stormtroopers.

  5. Grasslander says:

This is like a show generated by stormtroopers shooting at plot points at the firing range, with the best plot points about 300 feet away, which no stormtrooper can hit.

  6. Saimeren says:

“Tibia lady” had me laughing a lot harder than it probably should have.

    It’s the simple things.

  7. JustAGuyfromLDN says:

Can we just appreciate Ryan getting a haircut after recording Screenwriter Guy’s lines and before recording Producer Guy’s lines.

  8. Browalker15 says:

“She is just immediately that good at using the force?”
    “Yes.”
    “Well okay then!” 😁
    Perfectly sums up that moment.

    • Fredrick Garrett Sr says:

Reminds me of someone else😮 Rey Skywalker 🤯

    • MN says:

Well since Rey nothing surprises me anymore.

    • Jon Stern says:

Same as Rey. In Disney Star Wars, all you need to do is believe in yourself. Training and dedication nothing. This was also true for Obi-Wan. He was rusty at using The Force (strange given that he knew he needed to protect young Luke), but once he believed in himself, it all came flooding back.

  9. Canucklehedz says:

Thanks to the Drinker and Ryan, I can actually enjoy the fact that terrible shows and movies exist without watching them!

  10. Pat Powers says:

Fun pitch meeting, but Ryan missed one trick, which is pointing out that Sabine’s light sword stabbing was barely an inconvenience, but Morgana’s light sword stabbing killed her dead on the spot.
