Luis Rubiales kisses Jenni Hermoso after Spain’s victory in World Cup final
The president of the Spanish football federation, Luis Rubiales, has come in for criticism after he kissed forward Jenni Hermoso on the lips following Spain’s 1-0 victory over England in the World Cup final in Sydney.

Spaniard here. Luis Rubiales, president of the Spanish Football Federation is a national embarrasment. No it is not a matter of the local culture here to give unconsented kisses in the mouth to women. Rubiales has had a series of scandals on his back, including a shady millionary agreement with Gerard Piqué while he was an active player to take the Spanish Supercopa to Saudi Arabia. Everyone in my family is commenting what a national disgrace and embarassment this guy is. Unfortunately football is an untouchable sacred cow and no one seems to be limit its moral excesses and probable corruption.

Everybody dissing the president, yet the womsn herself liked it: ““It was a mutual gesture that was totally spontaneous prompted by the huge joy of winning a World Cup,” the statement said. “The ‘presi’ and I have a great relationship, his behaviour with all of us has always been 10 (out of 10) and this was a natural gesture of affection and gratitude.”
I thought the affections being showed by Rubiales were odd when I saw it. I’m surprised it made the news because it was so quick.
Hermoso later offered her perspective in a statement provided to the Spanish news agency EFE by the federation. “It was a mutual, spontaneous gesture prompted by the immense joy of winning a World Cup,” the statement clarified. “The ‘presi’ and I share a strong relationship; his conduct towards us has always been exemplary. This was a natural expression of affection and gratitude.”
Nice damage control. In video she’s seen saying “But I didn’t like it, alright? I didn’t like it!” Dude’s a creep.
So maybe he was already low key smashing on the low.

This is normal in Spain. I lived there for 6 years. First time you meet a girl, you have to kiss her in both cheeks. To tap her buttock is welcome if you know the girl and she feels comfortable to prank with you.
Even in brazil people you never met will kiss you.

the hands were not so that she cant escape, it was that kind of “big celebration” kiss, sometimes on mouth (innapropriate if you dont know the person very well), many times on the forehead
