When monsters emerge, secrets follow. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters premieres November 17 on Apple TV+ https://apple.co/_Monarch

Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.

Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army Officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.

Based on the Monsterverse from #Legendary, and starring Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, this dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.

It’s nice that they’re taking time to explore the timelines in between previous movies instead of constantly pushing forward. Filling gaps like this should be interesting

    • Ian Greene says:

It also gives you options on how to experience the MonsterVerse as a whole. You can either watch/read the movies, shows. and comics as they were released, or you can watch them in order in how they played out in the in-universe timeline.

    • Dennis Kristos says:

Totally agreed. Connective tissue that explains Monarch’s role in between Edwards’ “Godzilla 2014” and Dougherty’s “King Of The Monsters”. A story that needs to be told considering how absolutely trivialized, Monarch was in “GvK”.

    • Dav Yx says:

      Totally agreed

    • Sir dilophosaurus the third 2.0 says:

@Ian Greene I prefer transformers over Godzilla

    • 1DAR26 says:

That’s what the graphic novels are for. To fill in the gaps in between. Hopefully, this new series can do just that.

  2. Tello Serif says:

Kurt and Wyatt playing the same person has to be one of the most iconic and awesome casting decisions ever.

    • Incredible Jake says:

      I’m happy too!
I’m personally sick of all the de-aging/ deep fakes that are around nowadays.
It’s nice they just cast someone who resembles the actor. Even better that it’s his own son Wyatt.

    • Tello Serif says:

@Incredible Jake there’s so many more opportunities to do things like this it blows my mind we don’t see more of it with all the Hollywood nepobabies we have, siblings too.

    • milskillz123 says:

Now if we could just get that Escape from New York remake with Wyatt

    • Alex Lepoutre says:

This went from “why are they doing this?” to “omg I need all of it” with that casting alone. Wyatt is a truly underrated actor IMO. Can’t wait!

    • MechaRodan says:

      YES !!
Hope that “Lee Shaw” is a well written character !

  3. Walks With Gus says:

I’m excited that this monster- verse didn’t just stop at 4 movies, and they are finding new ways so still bring good storylines

    • Dhaiti md1 says:

Bruh if I would’ve known back then it was only the beginning. This is turning to be a whole universe now.

    • Gamer Minilla says:

      There’s 4 movies.

      Godzilla
      Kong: Skull Island
      Godzilla: King of the Monsters
      Godzilla vs Kong

    • Dennis Galindez says:

@Gamer Minillathere will be one more soon 😊

    • Walks With Gus says:

@Gamer Minilla correct. I forget about King of Monsters

    • Isaiah MacLeod says:

I never expected monster movies to have such a successful cinematic universe. When I saw Skull Island and the teaser for Godzilla vs Kong in the post credit scene, my mind was blown. Here we are 5+ years later and it’s still going strong! I’m very excited for this series 😁

  4. Alindo Al Qavi says:

I love it feels exactly like what a monarch movie should be

  5. FireJach says:

I love the tension, I hope there will be a great balance between the monsters and humans’ story

  6. Joshua says:

This looks TOO good to be a TV show! 🔥🦖❤️

    • Unknow says:

Its Apple hell they can afford this sick visual unlike Disney

    • Ultron Emperor says:

@Unknow watch Ahsoka and then say that again. The visuals are gold

    • GabesEditz says:

@Ultron Emperor Nah, Andor is a better example.

    • evilmonkee42 says:

The lines between film and TV have been blurred for some time now, with many shows having bigger budgets than a single blockbuster film. There has also been a longtime divide between film and TV stars, with it being more rare for film stars to dabble in TV, that has nearly completely dissolved. Actors are more likely to choose projects that interest them, regardless of format, vs. the once perceived stigma of doing TV once having established a film career. Examples like Zoe Saldana starring/EPing Lioness or Rebecca Ferguson doing the same for Silo. TV has changed as a medium that can cater to more longform stories, but rival the production quality of big-budget films. It’s fantastic!

  7. Wolfimann says:

It looks really good, the effects and CGI is insane for a series

  8. Drew McGill says:

Looks sick. Love the idea of using Kurt and Wyatt Russell as older and younger versions of themselves. I like the more serious feeling of the show too. Really looking forward to this one!

  9. Isaiah MacLeod says:

I always knew there was so much potential for the MonsterVerse to go deeper into the history of Monarch and monsters. This show looks absolutely amazing. Two different times, 5 decades apart. This is exactly what we needed for the franchise I’m so excited!

  10. MasterKingGodzillaFan says:

This looks incredible! The CGI and visuals are exactly how it looked like in the 2014 movie, but even better. The tone also feels like the one from the 2014 movie. I am so excited to the what happened during the gaps of each movie.
