Prey is coming to Hulu August 5

“Prey,” an all-new action-thriller from 20th Century Studios directed by Dan Trachtenberg (“The Boys,” “10 Cloverfield Lane”) and the newest entry in the “Predator” franchise, will stream August 5, 2022, exclusively on Hulu.

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

“Prey” is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison (“Jack Ryan,” “Treadstone”), and produced by John Davis (“Jungle Cruise,” “The Predator”) and Jhane Myers (“Monsters of God”), with Lawrence Gordon (“Watchmen”), Marty Ewing (“It: Chapter Two”), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas and Marc Toberoff (“Fantasy Island”) serving as executive producers.

The filmmakers were committed to creating a film that provides an accurate portrayal of the Comanche and brings a level of authenticity that rings true to its Indigenous peoples. Myers, an acclaimed filmmaker, Sundance Fellow and member of the Comanche nation herself, is known for her attention and dedication to films surrounding the Comanche and Blackfeet nations and her passion for honoring the legacies of the Native communities. As a result, the film features a cast comprised almost entirely of Native and First Nation’s talent, including Amber Midthunder (“The Ice Road,” “Roswell, New Mexico”), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (“Sooyii”), Michelle Thrush (“The Journey Home”), Julian Black Antelope (“Tribal”).

Praying that this is a good predator movie!

Because damnit we need more Predator and aliens movies :/

  2. Tell It Animated says:

Yes 🙌 a prequel is probably one of the most interesting ways they could reinvigorate this franchise, well without having Arnold Schwarzenegger come back in a legacy sequel of sorts

      @Mehdi Kurrimbux that sounds legit.

    • Mehdi Kurrimbux says:

@Tom Pollock Jr if you haven’t already done so, I’d recommend reading (or listening to) the book/audio book “If It Bleeds” – that’s a series of Predator stories through the ages.

      Lol nah cringeboy

    • Tom Pollock Jr says:

Yeah, a different time period is a great way to take this franchise and reinvigorate it. I always thought a Predator movie set in the old west, or feudal Japan would be incredible.

In my opinion I didn’t like the first movie, but I enjoy the Alien concept, I prefer to watch the rest films of series intead the first one.
Despite that, I’m anxious to watch the new movie.

Please let this franchise finally return. First movie a classic, the second is one to me as well. I get if people aren’t keen on the second one. We’ll see. I am going to check it out for sure.

Not much I can say from here.. But just give hope that it’s better than the last one. 🙂

  5. Eric Morgan says:

U can’t help but just to get hype every time I hear the sound design of the targeting system or that clicking noise from the predator. I hope this gets the franchise back on track

  6. Swagman says:

This is how you do a teaser
You don’t give too much away, you don’t reveal the design of the predator, and you just show something simple

  7. Jasir Lipscomb says:

Finally, a trailer that doesn’t reveal too much. It does give me a form of a small glimpse of how this movie might turn out.

    • Ensign 'Redshirt' Ricky says:

@Jasir Lipscomb A teaser and a trailer are two completely different things. That was Rayza NC’s point.
@Superemail – I am sure the movie will do that by itself, if the lead actress is the one in this teaser. Zero chance of immersion given her lack of muscle mass or even definition. She looks like they grabbed her from a Starbucks and put her in front of a Green screen.

    • TheOsmanthus says:

Plot Twist: It’s just a trailer of the official trailer

    • Superemail says:

There will be a trailer later on that ruins the movie, don’t worry. 🤣

    • Jasir Lipscomb says:

@Rayza NC I already know it’s teaser because a teaser trailer doesn’t reveal too much footage of the movie.

    • Rayza NC says:

      it’s called a teaser

  8. Anthony Latour says:

Finally a new take on the franchise! I wouldn’t mind the franchise making period pieces that aren’t necessarily related. I’d love to see the predators throughout history. That would be sick

  9. willy_b_coyote says:

Wether the movie is any good or not, THIS… is how you do a teaser.

  10. Meghnath S says:

After the 2018 shitfest, I thought the franchise is not gonna make a return for many years. But this is the right time to bring the franchise back on track. Let’s hope that this movie doesn’t dissappoint us.
