Shane, local socal wedding florist here. Get married somewhere that means a lot to you guys, wear whatever the fuck you want, invite your family and closest friends, do a buffet and have crumbl be your desserts. Trust me, it’s worth it and you don’t have to do anything traditional to have a gorgeous, fun day
Yes! Totally agree! When I got married, I got so sucked into the whole wedding craziness. It’s hard not too but you don’t need to have some big crazy expensive wedding to have fun. We ended up having a tornado during our ceremony which destroyed the whole outdoor reception area and people ran screaming into the building.. it actually was pretty scary lol but after we had a good time

Shane, you and Ryland could have a small wedding right on your property by the pond… Invite immediate family and close friends, wear comfy nice clothes (whatever you like) and have a reception right there after. Have Crumbl cookies and Chipotle catered if you want and Bam! Lmao Shane dragging his feet on getting married is like how my husband was during our engagement. He proposed but then dragged his feet for 4 years when it came to booking a date. I eventually just booked an appointment at a venue, made him go, and told him we’re getting married on 9/14.
We’re coming up on 8 years of marriage now and he’s said multiple times now he doesn’t know why he dragged his feet for so long. He was nervous of getting married and having everyone staring at him..but we ended up having a tornado during our ceremony and everyone had to run for cover.. so the jitters quickly dissolved once that happened 😂
My therapist told me that it’s really common to not think you will make it past a certain age/year if you had a traumatic past. So you’re normal, Shane! As normal as any of us are.
Ryland, just start planning the wedding. Begin with making appointments with planners in CO and then it will start rolling and a date will soon be set. You really should have your wedding and reception in your backyard and you really need to hire the food trucks that you stop at all of the time for the “after party”. It would be iconic if you gave out Cumble cookies as favors.
