Carl’s Date | Official Trailer

Oh boy, oh boy….here’s a special treat 🐾🐶

Watch the all-new short film, Disney and Pixar’s Carl’s Date, only in theaters with #Elemental THIS FRIDAY!

Check out a brand-new trailer celebrating Pixar Animation Studios’ “Carl’s Date.” Opening exclusively in theaters June 16 in front of Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental,” the all-new short marks a return to the studio’s tradition of pairing its feature films with animated shorts on the big screen. Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® Award winner Bob Peterson and produced by Kim Collins, “Carl’s Date” goes home with Carl Fredricksen (voice of Ed Asner) and his lovable talking dog, Dug (voice of Peterson), who were introduced in Pixar’s Oscar®-winning feature “Up.” Moviegoers will catch up with Carl as he reluctantly agrees to go on a date with a lady friend—but admittedly has no idea how dating works these days. Ever the helpful friend, Dug steps in to calm Carl’s pre-date jitters and offer some tried-and-true tips for making friends—if you’re a dog.

This was Ed Asner’s final role. I hope he’s proud of the work he did as Carl and how many people he has helped get through the grief of losing a loved one.

This is the last we see Carl😢

    • Billy Barnett says:

According to Wikipedia (not entirely accurate I know), Asner has other projects he did currently in post production.

    • MAYRA CORDERO says:

Ed asner is one great man and I know he must be proud that pixar gave him one final role as carl so thank you ed asner! 😢❤

    • Mr Critical says:

@Billy Barnett yeah I think he did a lot of Carl voice overs in one big burst because Disney wanted to capitalise on Up as much as they could

    • Professor C. says:

Expect the unexpected. Disney can no longer be trusted.

  2. Nicolas Baron says:

    • Buzzy Trombone says:

@Kendra Roth She wrote at the end of the album. “Thanks for the adventure! – Now go have a new one”. This is him having a new adventure.

    • Murielle Ladouceur says:

@Kendra Roth I guess he said yes because her wife told him to live new adventures and find happiness.

    • Slospop112 says:

@Kendra Roth There’s nothing wrong with a person moving forward after a deceased spouse. Nobody can replace Ellie is Carls eyes and he’s already spent a long time being grumpy, alone, & waiting for death; now he’s living his life again because he has to keep going. That’s what Ellie meant when she told Carl to find a new adventure.
Carl’s love for Ellie isn’t going anywhere, but thanks to people like Doug & Russell he learned he has a lot more love to give out. Believe it or not I think this is what Ellie would’ve wanted for him.

    • ben lankhof says:

      @Buzzy Trombone totally true lol

  6. Kenton Makings says:

And I thought we’d never see Dug or Carl ever again in some sequel or animated series. So glad we get to see more of those two. Also, R.I.P. Ed Asner, the original voice actor for Carl.

  7. Solvi says:

This is so amazing, Carl deserves love! ❤

  8. V&P productions says:

Rest in peace Ed, you truly had a iconic voice that made Up so memorable

  9. Kalvin187 Douglas says:

Carl going on a date is something unexpected. Especially since he spent his whole life with Ellie but everyone has their moments of choices in the end I suppose

  10. TAIGA says:

I can’t stop crying when Ellie’s last wish comes true in this work

I’m Japanese, so I don’t know if I speak English properly, but I can say this.

    I don’t like it, I love it!
