Carl’s Date | Official Trailer
Oh boy, oh boy….here’s a special treat 🐾🐶
Watch the all-new short film, Disney and Pixar’s Carl’s Date, only in theaters with #Elemental THIS FRIDAY!
Check out a brand-new trailer celebrating Pixar Animation Studios’ “Carl’s Date.” Opening exclusively in theaters June 16 in front of Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental,” the all-new short marks a return to the studio’s tradition of pairing its feature films with animated shorts on the big screen. Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® Award winner Bob Peterson and produced by Kim Collins, “Carl’s Date” goes home with Carl Fredricksen (voice of Ed Asner) and his lovable talking dog, Dug (voice of Peterson), who were introduced in Pixar’s Oscar®-winning feature “Up.” Moviegoers will catch up with Carl as he reluctantly agrees to go on a date with a lady friend—but admittedly has no idea how dating works these days. Ever the helpful friend, Dug steps in to calm Carl’s pre-date jitters and offer some tried-and-true tips for making friends—if you’re a dog.

This was Ed Asner’s final role. I hope he’s proud of the work he did as Carl and how many people he has helped get through the grief of losing a loved one.
This is the last we see Carl😢
According to Wikipedia (not entirely accurate I know), Asner has other projects he did currently in post production.
Ed asner is one great man and I know he must be proud that pixar gave him one final role as carl so thank you ed asner! 😢❤
@Billy Barnett yeah I think he did a lot of Carl voice overs in one big burst because Disney wanted to capitalise on Up as much as they could
Expect the unexpected. Disney can no longer be trusted.
Damn, Pixar is really about to make us cry before the Pixar movie even begins.
Disney Pixar
And Pixar haters will continue to ruin my life as a Pixar fan with their crappy Box Office talk lol.
its just a short wholesome movie about a old guy finding a date what crying are you talking about?
And then rewards you with a blank face because elemental looks boring as hell
@Nerdcore Enjoyer 2002the Pixar hate is very understandable though
This is wholesome to watch. Nice to see Carl again. It’s been a while.
It’s been two years
I can’t wait to see him one ☝️ last time in the new short film 🎥!!
@Porkatal Two years?, was it made in 2009?
@CCCorrect, it was made in 2009.
To everyone above, dug shorts were made recently which included Carl.
An amazing short film!
Eternal memory to the actor who voiced Carl!😭😭😭
It’s Carl, not Karl
Average mister beast fan:
ed asner
You saw it already?
Ed asner we miss you! 😭
I don’t think I’ll be able to get through this without shedding a tear 😢😢
Honestly I’m going to be crying when the actual movie hasn’t began yet lol 😂
@Kendra Roth She wrote at the end of the album. “Thanks for the adventure! – Now go have a new one”. This is him having a new adventure.
@Kendra Roth I guess he said yes because her wife told him to live new adventures and find happiness.
@Kendra Roth There’s nothing wrong with a person moving forward after a deceased spouse. Nobody can replace Ellie is Carls eyes and he’s already spent a long time being grumpy, alone, & waiting for death; now he’s living his life again because he has to keep going. That’s what Ellie meant when she told Carl to find a new adventure.
Carl’s love for Ellie isn’t going anywhere, but thanks to people like Doug & Russell he learned he has a lot more love to give out. Believe it or not I think this is what Ellie would’ve wanted for him.
@Buzzy Trombone totally true lol
And I thought we’d never see Dug or Carl ever again in some sequel or animated series. So glad we get to see more of those two. Also, R.I.P. Ed Asner, the original voice actor for Carl.
Look up “Dug Days”!
@Marc Vienneau you mean the Netflix show? Now I’m much more happy.
@Kenton Makings huhhh ur very lost, it’s a Disney plus original 😐
@Kenton Makings Netflix? No it’s a Disney+ series of shorts. This is basically the last one of the shorts
R.I.P. mr. Asner, original voice actor for Carl, and R.I.P. Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Russian voice actor for Carl🙏
This is so amazing, Carl deserves love! ❤
he had Ellie back then
He sure does deserve love ❤️!!
@CTRail1996 but it was back then
What does he mean he doesn’t know how to date? He dated Ellie.
@CTRail1996 Yes, but Ellie is gone, and Carl has been in grief long enough. I’m sure that Ellie would want him to feel loved & have someone again.
Rest in peace Ed, you truly had a iconic voice that made Up so memorable
Carl going on a date is something unexpected. Especially since he spent his whole life with Ellie but everyone has their moments of choices in the end I suppose
It’s a good thing.
I don’t know why everyone is saying that Carl dating again is a good thing. He didn’t need someone new. He found his adventure with Dug and Russel.
@patilly100 Exactly!! I don’t understand why is this a thing.
@patilly100 agreed
@patilly100 I get what u mean but it’s not like it’s necessarily a bad thing either, it’s just subjective
I can’t stop crying when Ellie’s last wish comes true in this work
I’m Japanese, so I don’t know if I speak English properly, but I can say this.
I don’t like it, I love it!
Yes, I feel the same way.
(By the way, you used perfect English, and that was well said.)
You did good with your grammar, it is exactly the same quote! And, I do agree with you
You did English perfectly well and you nailed it.
Your English is a lot better than some people whose first language is English. Props to you.
Anatano eigo wa ii des.
I *think* I said that right. Your English beats my Japanese!
