Coast Guard gives update on missing submarine that was exploring Titanic wreckage
The Coast Guard shared an update Monday on the search for a missing submarine with five people on board that was headed to the Titanic wreckage.
It’s almost surreal when you realize that a big rescue operation is taking place at the location where the Titanic, herself, was in severe need of rescue as she sank in that very spot 111 years ago.
Thanks for that, Numbskull.
@Simpleman56 lmao why are you mad? go drink some water and take a nap
@Simpleman56odd thing to get upset at lol
Mind blown 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@klol666 there’s a billionaire down there we need to send in everything❤ we got 2 planes in the sky. We got a submarine, and we’ve got Coast Guard and America and Canada’s Navy has stepped up. You can’t make this up
Terrifying. Godspeed to those in craft and rescuers.
What is Godspeed?
Leave well alone.. Humans curious nature will be their destruction.. period..
@Powerful Corneliusit means God give them speed to succeed in their endeavor.
@RC 😂
@Powerful Cornelius lol I thought it was a legitimate question
As a former U.S. Coast Guardsman, I hope and pray they are found alive and well.
they’re gone buddy
How would you expect them to be found alive if they only have oxygen to sustain them for 4 days.
Sorry sir, there is zero chance of any survival in this situation. They will die, if they already haven’t
@Alp stealing oxygen ninjitsu
@Alp Find them before 4 days. They could be alive still. Not looking for and trying to rescue them shouldn’t be an option at this point.
This goes to show you that no matter how much money you have, what position you have or how smart you think you are, the ocean will humble you.
Or the government.
When it’s your time, it’s your time.
There will soon come a time when money will be of no use to anyone.
@Kicky Money’s gonna evaporate u say? Makes sense 👌
or the space, space don’t care either
This is horrifying. I can’t imagine how scared they must be. Hope they are found 🙏🏽
It’s a tiny sub, the kind that carries only a limited amount of air 🙁
@surely you joke, mein failürehorrific.
Fact
I’m surr they had a good life
This is assuming that these people are still alive.
The deepest ever underwater rescue was that of Roger Chapman and Roger Mallinson, who were rescued from the Pisces III submersible at depths of 1,575 feet in 1973. They were trapped for 76 hours before finally being hauled to the surface
Yeah… here we re talking about roughly 4 to 5 kilometers depth. Would be a first miracle if rescuers locate em in time, and a second miracle if they manage to bring em back to surface in time.
There is hope then. It been done.
@PonyCar Resurrection At less than half the pressure, my guy…
@ponycarresurrection4401 they knew exactly where it was at the second it broke free and sank. They haven’t even located this one yet. But I hope they are floating around the Atlantic somewhere
@PonyCar Resurrectionit was done at 1/10th the depth this submersible is missing at.
As a former Submariner and Diver in the Canadian Navy, going under water is not without “Extreme” risks. I hope they find them. This will be a difficult rescue due to depth and location. 😪
Recovery more likely.
Dangerous and difficult if it’s even possible!
Yeah they’re probably dead. I hate to say it but we know it’s probably true. I was on a sub too. Worst years of my life.
Even if they locate on the bottom what’s the plan to get it back to the surface? ROV tow? Cranes from a boat?
Im from Massachusetts and am always proud of the Coast Guard and the Woods Hole scientists. They were there in short order to search and rescue.. ❤
So you men they will never find it the only thing good about Massachusetts is nothing
Hola marriage you
The coast guard and the US navy can recover anything off the ocean floor.
My goodness. Thank you to the Coast Guard and search teams who are undoubtedly risking their own safety by conducting this search. God speed.
I was a coast guardsman for four years and loved every minute of it. This emergency is a time sensitive ‘sticky wicket’ as they say so it’s all hands on deck. I miss doing SAR (search and rescue) calls.
Thank you for your service!
Thanks for your service!
I come from a coastal town, fishing is a dangerous profession and we appreciate your efforts going into danger to rescue our loved ones.❤
@RC Thanks, the pleasure was mine. Take care and stay safe.
