It’s almost surreal when you realize that a big rescue operation is taking place at the location where the Titanic, herself, was in severe need of rescue as she sank in that very spot 111 years ago.

Terrifying. Godspeed to those in craft and rescuers.

As a former U.S. Coast Guardsman, I hope and pray they are found alive and well.

This goes to show you that no matter how much money you have, what position you have or how smart you think you are, the ocean will humble you.

This is horrifying. I can’t imagine how scared they must be. Hope they are found 🙏🏽

The deepest ever underwater rescue was that of Roger Chapman and Roger Mallinson, who were rescued from the Pisces III submersible at depths of 1,575 feet in 1973. They were trapped for 76 hours before finally being hauled to the surface

    • Desvaux Sylvain says:

Yeah… here we re talking about roughly 4 to 5 kilometers depth. Would be a first miracle if rescuers locate em in time, and a second miracle if they manage to bring em back to surface in time.

@ponycarresurrection4401  they knew exactly where it was at the second it broke free and sank. They haven’t even located this one yet. But I hope they are floating around the Atlantic somewhere

    • Joel Slater says:

@PonyCar Resurrectionit was done at 1/10th the depth this submersible is missing at.

As a former Submariner and Diver in the Canadian Navy, going under water is not without “Extreme” risks. I hope they find them. This will be a difficult rescue due to depth and location. 😪

My goodness. Thank you to the Coast Guard and search teams who are undoubtedly risking their own safety by conducting this search. God speed.

I was a coast guardsman for four years and loved every minute of it. This emergency is a time sensitive ‘sticky wicket’ as they say so it’s all hands on deck. I miss doing SAR (search and rescue) calls.
