Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday announced a military operation in Ukraine, claiming it’s intended to protect civilians.
In a televised address, Putin said the action comes in response to threats coming from Ukraine. He added that Russia doesn’t have a goal to occupy Ukraine. Putin said the responsibility for bloodshed lies with the Ukrainian “regime.”

I hope Ukraine wins but I don’t count on it. I don’t want to die for this. If you want to go on your own accord that’s fine. Russia has the more they want them, and as for that matter. I have no urge to beat on the war drum as they aren’t even a NATO country. We are under no obligation to defend them as they are not in NATO. We need to focus on securing what we still have and stop looking so weak as a country and we have been recently in our diplomatic and military responses. For 10 years Russia’s been laughing at our sanctions and they’ll do the same thing they’ve done after Crimea at our sanctions and they will laugh at them and wave them off. We aren’t even particularly economically invested in Russia nor them us… But they can threaten our European allies with shutting off the oil and natural gas which might get some of them to fold. As of right now Russia holds most of the cards if not all of them.
