Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi and Dale Soules lend their voices to the Junior Zap Patrol’s Izzy Hawthorne, Mo Morrison and Darby Steel, respectively, and James Brolin can be heard as the enigmatic Zurg. The voice cast also includes Mary McDonald-Lewis as onboard computer I.V.A.N., Isiah Whitlock Jr. as Commander Burnside, Efren Ramirez as Airman Diaz, and Keira Hairston as Young Izzy. Directed by Angus MacLane (co-director “Finding Dory”), produced by Galyn Susman (“Toy Story That Time Forgot”) and featuring a score by award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (“The Batman,” “Up”), “Lightyear” opens only in theaters on June 17, 2022.

Okay, Zurg in the Toy Story movie series was a decent character. Gotta love his design and how menacing he looked as a toy. The people behind the animated series kicked it up a bit design-wise and his voice made him more terrifying. Now… wow! How scary is Zurg now in the new Lightyear movie!? It’s like he got a major upgrade!

Zurg looks absolutely incredible in Lightyear!

    • Kim Kim says:

I’m more interested if they’ll add the “Zurg is your father” in this. In Toy Story, it was something they probably add as a fun Easter Egg nod to Star Wars, but I wonder if they’ll actually do it for real.

    • Liu says:

Remember when in Toy Story 2, Zurg did an “I am your father” line? At that time it was most likely a Star Wars reference, but depending on where they’ll go with this movie, it might just be more than a reference.

the 3D Animation just keeps getting better and better, the technology is just incredible! TBH I’m genuinely excited for this movie. I was NOT expecting a film like this whatsoever but I think it’s a brilliant idea ✌️

I think I accidentally parked my spaceship on a planet where lame Pixar movie after lame Pixar movie comes out. The planet seems to have a giant flag which declares that Pete Doctor is CCO of the studio. And this trailer isn’t helping things, it doesn’t look like a good ride.

Onward is the last good Pixar movie to date, and that will likely still be the case when this is released.

I’m glad Pixar movies are finally coming back to theaters. I can’t believe we had three (technically four) movies at home during this pandemic. As much as I enjoyed them, they all felt a little less “real” then they usually do.

I feel like Disney is only letting the movies that are sure to make lots of money in the cinema and new ideas like Luca/Turning red weren’t in theatres because Disney didn’t want to risk anything

  8. Akshay “Jay” Peddada says:

Man, that trailer was awesome and beyond! I love how lines from the trailer were a great callback to the first Toy Story movie. The Zurg design looks dope and the I love how this is going to be a great origin story of Buzz Lightyear. Plus, I hope we get to see Buzz fly with his wings in the movie while saying “To Infinity and Beyond!” I also hope we get to see Andy in a after credits scene where he sees the movie and asks his mom to have a Buzz Lightyear for his birthday even though Woody is his favorite toy.

  9. VEE3RDEYE says:

    WHY IS ZURG ACTUALLY SCARY
