Tournament-wise, the previous low is third place for the US at the world cup. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t even make the quarter-finals this year. Like others have said, this seems less about the US not being as good as it once was (but it isn’t) and more about the rise of women’s soccer around the world. There have been surprising results throughout the cup, for various teams. So for the sport, overall things are looking good!

Woke up to watch this and only thing I got out of it was the US team seems to be playing for themselves and forgetting it takes a team to win. Sadly I do not see this team going anywhere, but I hope they prove me wrong. Go USA

The whole U.S team looked like they were only relying on there own individual skill to create something and thats a huge problem. Tactically and physically we are in our worst low. Sad to also see Lavelle not perform like she used to! I cannot see us going anymore further playing like this…
