    Gorbachev. Now the queen.

Can’t help but feel the symbolism of their passing during a time of big changes.

The world is shifting in front of our eyes. We’re watching an era die and a new one take place.

Respect for her endurance and hustle as a monarch. The fact that she ruled through so many big events in history and managed to still maintain the U.K in the First World Countries is amazing.

Even though she was so frail and probably knew she was dying . That didn’t stop her from fulfilling her duty , and welcomed the new PM with a smile . What an extraordinary woman !!!!!

@Flowerpower You and the person who liked your comment are not educated in the English language. Maybe English is your second language. At no point in my above comment, I allude that Asia and Africa are countries. My comment above states ” former colonies in Africa and Asia”. That doesn’t mean those two continents are colonies. It means former British colonies are on those two continents as well in the Caribbean. Please do English language comprehension. It’s needed for you.

I thought she’d still live another good few years. Well, yes she’d grown older and more fragile by the day but I swear I wasn’t prepared to wake up this morning to hear a news of the sudden demise of such a beloved and strong elderly monarch. Of course, death won’t notify us or give us a signal but really, nothing- -nothing in this world had readied me to see this. Life is unpredictable. Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth.

Extraordinary woman. As she assumed the throne, at age 21, she asked for people to pray for her, and stated: “I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.” She never reneged on that promise. Her kind will not be seen again, and based on some of the venomous statements I’ve seen, if a leader like her did reappear, many classless individuals would be unable to realize it.

First, my condolences Her Majesty, The Queen’s family and friends as well as her people. As someone who grew up in the states, I don’t think I truly understood the impact she had on her people. There’s no one I can compare her to, though as I listened to people in Britain get interviewed, many of them described her as being like their own grandmother which was very touching to me. She sounds like a once in a lifetime human being, one that those who knew her said cared deeply for those she knew and could calm those she had only just met. IF WE ALL ASPIRED TO BE LIKE THAT, THE WORLD WOULD BE A KINDER/FRIENDLIER PLACE.

It’s weird not having her around. She’s the only queen I’ve ever known. I was born in the 80s. Good luck to Charles.
